Luv My Cousin!

My poor blog has been neglected a bit in the last week but with the weather being so hot I haven't been motivated to scrap.  Yesterday I went with a girlfriend to a class with Sonia Thomason on how to make 8 different kinds of handmade flowers.  It was such fun and I learnt some great technics, so thanks Sonia.  I couldn't wait to get home and have a play.  This layout is of Maddie and Liam at Mum and Dad's house one night (the boys love Mitchell and Maddie so much).  Used the new Echo Park "For the Record" patterned papers, AC thickers, AC Rose ribbon, Dymo labeller and I have finally found a way to use up the multiple packets of old coloured Kaiser paper flowers - these are some of the flowers we learnt today.  I also bought a disc recently on getting the most out of your Cricut Machine so have cut out the frame and the leaves.
Until next time thanks for stopping by.  Stay cool and happy scrapping.

Another Finished!

Hi again

I have finished off another layout from Saturday that I had to do the stitching on.  The photo's are of my nephew Lachlan in his car seat wearing his mothers sun hat.  He just looks so gorgeous that is why I have called this layout "You are too beautiful to be a boy!".  This is from a sketch but  I have kept it basic as I wanted the photo's to be the focus rather than the embellies.  Have used Kaiser Cocco range of patterned papers, DMC Thread, Flowers, AC Thickers, Ribbon and Adorn It mini alphas.

That's all for now.  It is to hot to sit in my scrapping room so out to the air con to veg in front of the TV.  (I am certainly over these hot days and nights - think I'm getting old!)  Thanks to all those ladies that have left such lovely comments, they really do make my day!

Saturday Crop

Hi All,

A few layouts to share.  Yesterday was my monthly crop at NSC. I was very organised this month so had quite a productive day. Again I was trying to use up old papers to reduce my stash even more because there is some yummy stuff on the way that I know I am going to have to have.

Love this photo of my sister in law Kerrie and Lachlan on Cable Beach in Broome last year.  Don't know what he was telling her but I thought it was a special photo.  Have used Pink Paislee Fetching PP, Office Lingo Die Cut and Wood Cotton Alpha's, Maya Road Kraft Envelope, Kaiser Wooden Flower, OA Mini Alpha's, Adorn It Numbers, Ink, Glossy Accents, MS Frong Punch and Dymo Labeller.
Love this photo also of my sister Kerry and my niece Reannon.  I so love that my sister smiles in a photo now because for so many years she wouldn't.  Have had to use my little camera today as my friend is fixing up the white balance on my big camera so hasn't photographed very well but you get the idea.  Have used Bella Melrose Vintage Die Cut, Kaiser After Five PP, Ribbon, Prima Bling Flourish and Bella cut out title.
My nephews sitting on Grandma's couch looking like butter wouldn't melt in their mouths!  Have glimmermisted AC Kraft Cardstock, Cut out a piece of Sassafras Lass Mix and Mend PP, Kaiser Doily, Ribbon, Cardstock, Brown Paper Bag, Sassafras Lass paper whimsies number card, inked AC Thickers, Rub ons, BG Basics Mini Alpha's, Buttons, String, DMC thread and I have used my friends I-top to make the brad.  These papers are very mish mash looking so after searching the Net for some ideas just went with a bit of everything.
My 3 Nephews and Niece checking out something on Grandma's computer.  We were all at Mum's to celebrate my birthday in December and Kerrie snapped this photo.  Great photo of them all!  Glimmermisted Vanilla Cardstock, Kaiser Jade Garden PP cut out on my Cricut Machine, Kaiser wooden heart, Cuttlebug Alpha's, Prima flowers, Stamp in up flourish stamp and handmade roses.

***Have Edited this layout as I wasn't happy with the stamping of the flourishes.  Added more PP and a heart doily sprayed with glimmermist and softened the paper around the photo.  Still not 100% happy but time to move on!!!
Couldn't resist scrapping this photo of my nephew Lachlan with the Attitude.  Used Basic Grey Periphery PP and have cut the bird and shelf out of the paper, Hesian, Old book page inked and glimmermisted, AC Thickers, Sassafras lass flower, Sizzix leaves and butterfly, Hambly High Tea transparency, rhinestones, Cosmo Cricket mini alpha's.
Well that's all I actually got finished but was happy with 5 layouts completed.  Will try and finish off the others today.  It is supposed to rain here today so fingers crossed we sooooo badly need some rain.  None so far so think I will get on with the washing.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Transparency Window Layout!

Hi All

Wow it's hot here today - it got to 39 degrees. Have  fired up the air conditioning and decided to finish this project off that I was working on.  This layout was inspired by the very talented Kim Jeffress who wrote an article on making a "transparency window" in the latest Scrapbooking Memories magazine.  This is my niece looking gorgeous for a night out!  I have used Textured Bazzill Cardstock, Bling Cardstock, Hamblyn High Tea Transparency, Dusty Attic Chipboard Fence, Prima Flutter Vine, AC Foam Thickers, Prima Brown Swirls,  Making Memories Mini Shimmer Alpha's, Stampin Up Flourish Stamp, Embossing Ink, Lace, Button and Organza Ribbon.
I have stamped flourishes using a watermark stamp pad and then added the embossing ink and dried it with a heat gun.  It is very subtle but I thought that would give a more elegant look.  The flower at the top is made from a piece of lace gathered together.
Until next time stay cool and happy scrapping!

Echo Park Layout

Hi All,

It has been a while since my last post but haven't had anything to share.  Last week I got a message advising me that one of my layouts had been spyed and posted on the Imaginisce blog which was very exciting for me.  I have been amazed at the amount of people from all over the world that have visited my blog since that happened so I have been busy blog hopping myself and following those links.  Never believed I would get caught up in this blogging world but I have, hence not many layouts being completed.

This layout is of my nephews taken a few years ago.  Scraplifted the basic layout idea but of course added my own bits.  Have used the gorgeous Echo Park Little Boy patterned paper range and stickers, JB date spot, buttons, ribbon and my new MS punch which I love.
Have been playing with transparency overlays and embossing inks so fingers crossed I will have something worth sharing in a few days before getting ready for my monthly crop on Saturday.

Thanks to everyone who has visited my blog and to those that left such lovely comments.

Enjoy the rest of the week and happy scrapping!

Learning Pinwheels

Last night I came across the blog of Kristie from Let's Scrap and found her tutorial for pinwheels, so decided to give them a go.  This layout is of Liam and Lachlan dressing up in odd socks!!!!  Used Bo Bunny Block Party patterned papers and chipboard embellishments, AC Thickers, Chipboard frame and star, brads, JB Ticket and ink.  Love these papers for boys.
Till next time "Happy scrapping"!

Xmas Morning 2007

This is my last layout from my scrappy weekend.  I started this layout in March 2010 from an Inspired Blueprints sketch.  Haven't loved what I have achieved but it is together now so time to move on.  Used the My Minds Eye (hasn't that been a favourite this weekend) Colourful Christmas range of patterned papers.  Photo's are of Maddie at the beach on Christmas morning in 2007 (yes 2007!)  Just printed Christmas morning 2010 photo's yesterday.  Does that mean I am catching up?
Oh well it is time to head off to do some cooking for the week.  I haven't sat in my scrapping room the whole weekend I have actually done some chores and caught up on a few shows I had taped during the week but it has been great to have the time to scrap.  Hope you all have a great week ahead and thanks for stopping by.

Anna's Craft Cupboard Sketch

Morning All,
Another layout to share.  I am feeling very motivated this week so I am getting in early with my sketch challenges.  Wow, last month I think I did them on the 29th!  This layout is based on Wendy Smith's February sketch at Anna's Craft Cupboard.  The sketch required 3 photo's so dug out these old photo's of Lachlan.  I have used up the balance of My Minds Eye Fine and Dandy True Blue patterned papers and chip embellishments.  I very rarely scrap more than one layout with a range but I just loved both the girl and boy ranges of these papers that I have used them both all up.
Still haven't mastered photographing my layouts particularly straight but you get the picture. I am so pleased I got my washing and chores all done on Friday night so the weekend has been mine to scrap.  Hope you are having a relaxing weekend also!

This is my take on the February Sketch Challenge at Handmade by Suzanne.  I have again used the My Minds Eye Fine And Dandy Tickled Pink range of patterned papers and chipboard embellishments.  They are such pretty papers.  Also used Prima and Kaisercraft Flowers.
Thanks for stopping by!  Till next time take care.

Get Picky Challenge

Hi All,

Yay it's the weekend again!

When I read the words to the Bob Dylan song "Forever Young" in the Get Picky Inspiration Challenge this month, the line "Stand Upright and Be Strong" jumped out at me as I remembered I had these photo's of my Nephew (who is very small) wearing these huge Incredible Hulk hands.  So I decided to play along.

I have used Bazzill Kraft Cardstock, (scraps) October Afternoon Night Light Patterned Papers and co-ordinating Shapes, Basic Grey and Kaisercraft Mini Alpha's, Jillibean Soup Packaging, AC Puffy Thickers, Glimmermist, Tim Holtz Ink and Glossy Accents.  I love it when the packaging from Jillibean Soup and Prima are so nice that you can use them on your layouts.

I have a reasonably relaxing weekend for a change so hopefully will get some scrapping done.  Hope you all have a great weekend!

My tidy space & some layouts!

Morning All,
Last night I finished off my layout showing off my Louis Vuitton Chirstmas Present.  I don't usually scrap myself but I thought such a special gift was worth a layout.  I am very lucky!  I used the very yummy My Minds Eye Holly Jolly Patterned Papers and Embellishments, Basics Mini Alphas, Adorn it Numbers, Prima Flowers, Rhinestones, Pearls and organza ribbon.  Love those little handmade roses I made from scraps of paper.
This layout I also finished off.  I started it nearly a year ago but finally did the journalling and put on some finishing touches.  The photo's are of Dad and Uncle John when they were boys and again at Dad's 50th in Hedland.  It is amazing how similar the photo's are all those years on.
And finally, I mentioned I had a clean up of my scrapping room last weekend so here are the results of my tidy space.  Let's see how long it stays that way!
Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy the rest of your week and a huge thanks to all those lovely ladies who have left comments for me.
