House Updates

Hi All

Things have been progressing quickly with the house at last.  I think next week we will be at lock up and so I have been spending weekends shopping and trying to get quotes for bits and pieces for when hand over finally happens.
The most important room in the house my "Scap Room".
This is the front view - of course!
From the dining/kitchen down the hallway towards the front door. LHS doorway is my room and the RHS doorway is the scrap room.
From the back yard facing the street.  Lounge window and the doorway is into the garage.
 The living area.
Alfresco and down the LHS of house.  Mum sticking her head out the laundry door.  (Her favourite room)
From the dining room showing part of the kitchen and part of the lounge out to the alfresco.
Stepping through the front door.  First doorway on the LHS is the front bedroom (Guest) and on RHS is the entrance from the garage.  Along that wall is my beautiful huge linen cupboard.
And lastly the side view of the house.

Sorry to all those people who are not looking at my site to see house photo's but as previously advised this is for my relatives and friends who are wanting updates.  Easier than emailing photo's.

Hopefully some scrapping soon.

Cheers

New Home

Hello Again

This post is for my family and friends in the East that have been asking for me to share some photo's of the house developments.

This is a layout I have created with the first photo's of the footings and the slab being laid.  "Finally the slab is down".  It only took 10 months to get started!  I was told I would be moving in by Christmas 2012 but they actually  only laid the footings on 12/12/12.

This is the view from the Alfresco into the open plan living area.   These are two sliding doors out to the Alfresco one from the lounge and the other from the kitchen.  The doorway is to the hallway down to the bedrooms and the front door.
This is the view from the lounge area.  Dad and Wolfgang are standing in the kitchen.  The door off the kitchen is to my  (very tiny) laundry and the other is down the hallway.
This photo was taken today.  The roof timbers are all done and it has been measured for the Colorbond to be custom cut and hopefully will be installed this week. The power was all run through the walls today.  The Electrical and Gas Contractors are going to be a bit annoyed though as the metre box is supposed to be relocated to the LHS of the house and probably should have been done before they hooked it all up to the box.
We have many photo's that we take each time we go but this gives you an idea of what is happening.
Will share again once things progress a little more.

Love to all.

Scrapped At Last

Hello All

I probably haven't got any blog followers left since it has been so long since I have posted.  Still in the process of building my house so not much opportunity for scrapping as all my belongings are still packed away. Went to the country on the weekend with a girlfriend to help her out at a scrapping retreat so with her assistance and some new photo's I have created a few layouts to share.  Won't be able to share all the details of the layouts as I am not as organised as usual.  Basically this is just a post to share with family and friends rather than promote products.  Looking at my layouts I am so lucky I have got my gorgeous niece to scrap.  Thanks Maddie for sharing your photo's with me. x

I have tried quiet a few different techniques on some of the layouts using texture paste, gesso and stamping but unfortunately they haven't photographed with all the detail.

If you have stopped by to take a look - thank you.

Fingers crossed it will only be a few more months until I have my scrapping room all set up in my new house.

Until next time take care and happy scrapping!

Finally something to Share

Hi All

Thanks for your patience to all those who have been checking in and I've had nothing posted.   Finally the move from my unit is over and I have had the opportunity over a few weekends to attend a couple of crops.
I have found it hard to get back into things, especially with most of my stuff being packed away so I started by making a couple of simple cards.

This card I have used Prima papers from one of their paper pads and a Prima flower.  The daisies are made using string and a circle template and the centres are made with self covered buttons.
These papers are Websters,  and the flowers are Green Tara.  The Cameo is made using the new Martha Stewart Crafters Clay and Moulds.  So good for cards because they are so light and some great moulds.  Check them out at Handmade by Suzanne.
This is Prima paper with ribbon and Green Tara flowers.  Have punched out some Martha Stewart butterflies and added liquid pearls.
This layout is of  my Nephews heading off for their first day of school for 2012.   The papers are Graphic 45 "A ABC Primer" range.
My Nephew Mitch at 15.  (He is now 16 and learning to drive OMG!!)  Have used the new Kaisercraft range called "Attitude".  Great boy range.  Have just sanded the base page for more of a grunge look.
I tried to scrap lift a gorgeous layout by Belinda Spencer but hasn't turned out quite the same.  Have used Echo Park Yours Truly paper with white cardstock.  To stamp the rings I used a toilet roll and distress ink.  The black flower is a Canvas Corp fabric flower and I added some AC white flower ribbon to the centre.   The rubons are Kaisercraft and the butterflies and hearts are Martha Stewart punches.
This is a photo of Dad and his Father.  The only photo we have of Dad's father.  The papers and embellies are from the gorgeous Kaisercraft "Sweet Nothings" range. The flowers and the alpha's are Prima.
These are also the only photo's we have of Dad's mother.  I think this is also Kaisercraft "Sweet Nothings" range.  I added stamping, crackle paint to some of the flowers etc. but it doesn't show up in the photo.
And finally my cute little Nephew enjoying the outdoors.  This range of papers are Simple Stories "Summer Fresh".  The large circle is cut using the WRMK Lucky 8 punch and the small circles are Memory Box dies. The daisy I made using twine and a Hessian covered button.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and I hope it won't be so long before I update again.  Mind you I think I said that last time!  My house building starts in August but hopefully it will be a few months before I have to start getting involved too much.

Until next time take care and happy scrapping!

Very Neglected Blog - Sorry!

OMG it has been 2 months since my last blog post so to all those lovely people that have been checking in I sincerely apologise.  I do have a very good excuse!  I have decided to build my own home so I have bought myself a little plot of land and have been busy organising all the bits and pieces for my new abode which has been very stressful but in the end will be very exciting.  Also after living in the same house for nearly 17 years packing up is a huge chore.  I therefore hope you all understand my lack of time to dedicate to scrapping.

So now on to my scrapping news.

Last weekend I went to the Handmade by Suzanne scrapping retreat and spent the weekend scrapping with some special friends, my Sister and my Mum.  We had such a fun time and it was nice to escape from the packing boxes.  So now my projects to share!

Firstly I had some cards on my camera that I had made for Mum.  One for her birthday and one for Mothers Day.
This card was made using some leftover Prima paper, Kaisercraft mini Roses, Ribbon, Spellbinders diecut and SRM Sticker quote.
Mum's Mothers Day card I made using Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe Collection of papers.
This layout is of my Brother being toilet trained (the hard way) by my Dad.  We think it was taken in maybe 1971.  I love the textured cardboard look so with some teaching from my girlfriend on just ripping the side off a box this is the outcome.  The paper and the journalling card are from the new Prima En Francais range.  The tag I made ages ago after watching a Tim Holtz Distress Ink online tutorial and the vine, mini alpha's and the wooden tags are also from Prima.
I have scraplifted this idea from a layout by Rachael Funnell.  I just loved the fresh look of it.  Have used the new Jillibean Soup Coconut Lime Soup range of papers and mini letters, AC Thickers, Kaisercraft rubon quote and assorted flowers.
My cute Nephew doing his favourite thing at Grandad's house - playing with his tools.  This was from a sketch and I have used Three Bugs in a Rug Tool Time papers and Jillibean Soup mini alpha's.  Think my photo is a bit blurry - sorry!
These photo's are of my Nephew Liam on his first day of Cubs all dressed up in his uniform.  He especially asked his Mum when she took these photo's to make sure she sent them to me.  The papers and stickers are from the October Afternoon Campfire range and the chipboard Wordlet is Scrap FX.
A gorgeous photo of my Niece and Nephews taken on Mum's birthday in April.  I love love love these papers from My Minds Eye - Follow your heart collection.  Have used the Tim Holtz rosette die and Jillibean Soup mini alpha's.
My Sister and my Niece live in Adelaide and they took some time out to go camping and travel the Great Ocean Road.  Have used Kaisercraft These Days range of papers and collectables.  I added some prima flowers to the cluster, AC Thickers and October Afternoon mini alpha's.
And lastly this photo was taken of my beautiful Niece on Mothers Day.  I have been waiting for so long for the right photo to use this Girls Paperie range of papers and embellishments.  Also used a Kaisercraft wooden frame and flowers.  I am not very happy with the title in the white so may change that.

Oh wow that was a long post.  If you lasted until the end - thank you!  We have a long weekend here in Perth this weekend for our newly named "WA Day" so my girlfriend has asked me to catch up on one of the days for a crop so will hopefully have more to share next weekend.

Hope all is well with you all and again thank you for your patience.  Until next time take care and happy scrapping.

March Crop

Hi All

Yesterday was our March crop date.  We held it at Mum's house this month as there were only 4 of us.  Missed you 'M'!  As expected Mum put on a magnificent spread for lunch and kept us well hydrated throughout the day.  Thanks Mum!!

This first layout is my take on the March sketch at Handmade by Suzanne.  Thanks Suz for knowing what I love and the product inspiration.  I have used the new and very gorgeous range of papers from Pink Paislee London Market, Kaisercraft wooden birdcage, Manor House Flower and Martha Stewart Punches.  It's a great sketch so why not play along for your chance to win a store voucher to spend on all the new yummy products that have been arriving daily.

This very old (and a little damaged) photo is of my sister Liz and I that we think was taken in 1970.

This gorgeous photo is of my Niece Maddie relaxing in the pool at Villa Ramah during our annual girls trip to Bali.  This was Maddie's first time away with Liz and I and was quick to put her hand up again this year.  Have used Bo Bunny Barefoot of Bliss range of papers and embellishments.  The title is an old chipboard title that I have painted and sprinkled with Doodlebug Sugar Coating.
And lastly these are some very old photo's of Mitchell's (now 15) first school excursion.  As you can see they went to Perth Zoo and Mum, Liz and Maddie all went along.     Have used Bo Bunny Zoology range of papers and embellishments.  Need to add some journalling to this page but need to work out the date first.
That's all for this week.  Easter holidays are coming up so hopefully will get some time to scrap some more.  Until next time take care and happy scrapping.

Happy as can Bee

Hi All

Once again I'm sorry I have neglected my blog but I haven't had time for scrapping in the last month.  Last night took some timeout and I scrapped this sweet photo of my Niece Maddie and her pooch Tess while watching MKR.
Have used October Afternoon Schoolhouse paper, diecut and mini alpha's, Colormates cardstock, Kaisercraft wooden Berry Vine, Collections Vintage Butterflies, American Crafts Thickers, MS punches and Tim Holtz Rosettes diecut.

We have a scrap day coming up on the 24th so will have more to share in a couple of weeks.

Until then - Happy scrapping!

Scrapping Holiday

Hi All

I have just come back from 4 days down South with my "Scrapping" girlfriend where we spent our days scrapping, eating, drinking and visiting the day spa.  Oh what a life!

So finally I have layouts to share.  My mission was to use up some of my old stash - mission accomplished (sort of)!

This first layout is of my Niece Maddie and her girlfriend Jessie.  I think they were doing something at school?  I have used Webster's Trendsetter range of papers and fabric ribbon that I have concertinaed.  The birdcage is Kaisercraft wood, AC Thickers, Zva Creative flourish and Manor House flowers.

Another layout using gorgeous Webster's papers.  This range is called Western Romance.  I have fussy cut a couple of the papers to get the embellies.  The small horses are painted RW Laser chip, AC Thickers, and the flower balls are Webster's too.  I have cut the frame around the photo using the Cindy Lou Cricut Cartridge.
This is using the My Minds Eye Holly Jolly range of papers, Chipboard and Accessory sheet for this layout.  Prima Vine that I have replaced the flowers with Making Memories Christmas Holly and Flowers.  Border punch is Martha Stewart and the alpha's are Basic Grey Micro's.
My Niece Maddie went camping with her girlfriends for her 13th birthday.  It looks like they had some fun playing in the mud.  This range of papers are the new stunning range from My Minds Eye called Follow your Heart.  I have stamped using a Tim Holtz stamp to match the paper and used my Tim Holtz Rosette Sizzix die cut.  Both the boy and girl ranges in this line are just gorgeous and are all available at Handmade by Suzanne.
I have scraplifted this idea from Steph Devlin who's work I absolutely love.  This is a new Kaisercraft range called Tigerlilly that I was lucky enough to get to enjoy thanks to my friend who got sent some pre release papers.  Keep an eye out for them early March.
Again I have used a new range of My Minds Eye called Miss Caroline Dilly Dally papers and Title.  The chip 'M' is an old chip that I have painted stamped and sanded together with the Dusty Attic Branch.  The flower is Manor House and the handmade flowers are cut using Spellbinders.
This lovely photo of my sister was taken at her husbands 50th birthday in May last year.  Have used a very old "I think" Bella die cut that I have mounted on white cardstock.  The rub on is Kaisercraft and the title is made up of Basic Grey Micro Alpha's and AC Thickers.  Have used  a 2 Crafty Floral Frame that I have painted and added handmade Roses and Martha Stewart frond and butterfly punch outs. Sorry I am not sure what the heart chip corner is but have treated it the same as the frame.  The purple cardstock is Coredinations that I have sanded.
And lastly this again in my gorgeous Niece with her Nana and cousin Kelly.  Have used My Minds Eye Stella and Rose range.  Have cut out some bits from one of the papers.  The title is cut using Storybook Cricut Cartridge and the heart and key are using Spellbinders. Adorn it mini alphas and DMC thread.
If you have lasted to the end of this long post you have done well.  I feel a little bad that I have basically just scrapped my Niece this week when I have 3 Nephews but it seems so much more fun scrapping girly things.

Back to work tomorrow so had better get on with finishing unpacking my scrap room and getting the washing done.  Have a great week and hopefully won't be so long between posts.

Take Care and Happy Scrapping!
