Time to Scrap!

Hi All

Hope you all had a great weekend?  I can't believe it is December already and Christmas is fast approaching.  I found some time to scrap today so here are a few layouts to share.

This first layout is my Nephew Mitchell's Year 10 school photo. I have used 2 tones of Bazzill cardstock to try and co-ordinate with his uniform and Core'dinations Nightfall Cursive cardstock that I have sanded. AC thickers, Kaisercraft wooden Lilac leaves that has been white washed and inked using Ingvild Bolme inks.  The corrugated tag has also been white washed and I have added some hemp.  The quote sticker is by Heidi Swapp and a domino tile. As Mitch is getting older I wanted to keep the layout simple!
This is my take on the December 2011 sketch at Anna's Craft Cupboard.  The photo you would have seen before of my Niece and Nephews taken on Christmas Day 2010.  The products used are from The Girls Paperie Tinsel & Twig range of papers and stickers.  AC thickers, Tim Holtz rosette and I have made the Santa List tag using "Word" and added some rub ons.  The tickets are from Shabby Chic (I think).
And finally a layout of Mitch and Maddie playing with Tess on the front lawn.  Love these photo's.  Tess is such a gorgeous dog (oh the kids aren't bad either!)   Belinda Spencer has inspired me to use these colours, I love her work.  Have used Bo Bunny Et Cetera Geography paper and Pink Paislee Green Acres paper, Jillibean Soup corrugated kraft alpha's and flowers.  Tim Holtz Kraft coro that I have embossed with a TH embossing folder and sanded.  The punches are from EK Success and Martha Stewart.  The banner is from Greatest View Etsy Shop and I have made the flower using some old book pages and the Tim Holtz tattered flowers Sizzix diecut that I've added a brad and some rhinestones to.
Well that's all for today.  I have transferred my blogger to Goggle Chrome and it appears to be working now so hopefully no more problems.  My sister Liz called by today and I copied her camera chip onto my computer so looking forward to getting some current photo's printed and scrapping.  The TV viewing is so dismal at the moment I think I will find myself spending more time in the scrap room.

Hope you all have a fantastic week.  Take care and happy scrapping.

Back from Bali

Hi blog friends

Have still been having problems with my blog on my computer at home and reading the help forum on blogger many are experiencing the same problem.

I have a couple of layouts to share that I started before I went to Bali and have only managed to finish them off and not create anything new.  This first layout is of my cute Nephew Lachlan playing with Granddad's tools.  I have used the Kaisercraft On the Move range of papers and collectables, Twine, October Afternoon mini alpha's, AC Thickers and an old Heidi Swapp sticker.

This layout is of an old family photo taken at a picnic day my Mum and her family would go on when they were children.  The photo was emailed and I printed it from the email so it isn't fantastic quality but I thought it was important to document.  Have used Echo Park Time & Seasons range of papers, Prima felt tree, vine, flowers and resin bird. Scrap FX chipboard title and random other bits and pieces.  (One of my ladies has moved but I didn't have time to photograph again - she is back on straight now)

Liz, Maddie and I had a fantastic time in Bali relaxing while our angel "Ketut" took fantastic care of us as always.  We just spent the week relaxing with massages everyday, reading, swimming and basically doing as little as possible.  Had a pool party at the villa for Ketut, Wayan, Gede and their families and they all cooked some great food for us.  We love them all and can't wait to go and visit them again soon!
And finally the boy in the brown shirt is my sponsor boy "Wayan".  He has finished his university now and has a full time job in a resort in Bali.  He has to wait 2 years to be able to go and work on the cruise ships out of the USA. I am so proud of how well he has done and it is fantastic to see that my sponsorship has helped him achieve something so special for him and his family.  Wayan isn't part of the program anymore but him and his family still took the time to come to the party day to see me and help out with the other kids activites.  It was so great to see him giving back to the other kids in appreciation for all the years he got to join in the fun.
It's going to be a hot weekend in Perth so hopefully will have time to put the air con on and sit down and do some scrapping.  Mind you Western Power have advised me they will be turning off my power on Sudnay from 7.30am till 3.30pm.  Great!!!

Enjoy the rest of the week and to all my family and friends that have had birthdays in this last week (all 6 of you) hope you had a special day.  Till next time stay safe and happy scrapping!

1st time published!

Hi Bloggers

Hope you all had a great week and maybe had a win on the Melbourne Cup?  My horse didn't win but I did win a bottle of Champagne for "best dressed" which was very nice.

I am very excited that one of my double layouts was chosen to appear in this months Scrapbooking Memories magazine.  This is the first time one of the layouts has been published.  For some reason they have advertised I am from South Australia and not Western Australia.  Maybe they have researched me and found out I was born in SA. LOL!!
Last weekend I told you I was attending an Ingvild Bolme class on Wednesday night.  This is the layout we created at that class.  Ingvild was such a lovely lady and I was really pleased to meet someone so talented that was so willing to impart with her creative knowledge so freely.  It was very worth the money!!    All the products used are from Prima Marketing and we were also very lucky to receive a kit of Ingvild's comfort tools from Anna at Anna's Craft Cupboard who ran the class on behalf of Prima.  Thanks Anna - I love them!  The photo is of my beautiful niece and her beloved puppy dog "Tess".
I have spent the day today scrapping with my friend Suzanne but haven't finished one of the layouts I was working on and the other I created is using products that haven't been released yet so can't share that until December. Thanks "S" for sharing your yummy goodies with me! x

Have got a busy week this week and then I am heading off for a little holiday with my sister and my niece so won't be checking in for a couple of weeks.

Hope you all have a great week.  Sadly my week is starting with a funeral for my friend John Moir who passed away suddenly last Monday.  RIP Big Boy!!!

Happy Scrapping!

Mr Mischief - Not really!

Hi All

Happy Sunday!

Can't believe it has been a long weekend here and all I have to show for it is ONE layout!  I had good intentions but other things got in the way.  I spent Friday doing all my chores (because my cleaning lady didn't come this week - aagh) so I then had the whole weekend to play.  Not to be!!!!  Oh well I guess it is good to be busy and out being sociable.

My layout is of my nephew Lachlan taken on Fathers Day in September playing with Granddad's tools.  He is not really "Mr Mischief" but he loves keeping busy.
Have used Bazzill cardstock, Raven Glimmermist, Bella Boy Paperz range, Tim Holtz Sizzix diecut, Ranger Distress Crackle Paint, Kaisercraft rub-ons, bottlecap, April Showers Cricut cartridge and thread.

I am very excited as this week is the "Ingvild Bolme Prima Workshop".  (Finally!!)  It seems like I booked it months and months ago.  Have got everything ready today off the list and can't wait.  Hopefully we will be able to share on our blogs what we create.

Until next time hope you all have a great week!  Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Scrapping

Cousins - Photo Op

Hi Blog Followers

Sorry it has been a few weeks since I last posted I was sick with a Migraine last weekend so no scrapping done.

Had our monthly crop at Northside Croppers yesterday and sadly that is the end of the group for me.  The club is folding after next months crop but I will be overseas for that one so yesterday was it for me.  It has been nice to get together monthly with a group of ladies who share the same love of scrapping.   I have met some really lovely people over my years of attending and I am so grateful that some of my closest friends today I met at the group.  It has been really great also that it was something that Mum, Liz and I have been able to do together.  Oh well they say as one thing ends another will begin!  Didn't do much yesterday but here are the couple I have to share.
Liz took these great photo's of the kids at Mum and Dad's on Fathers Day 2011.   I have used the Jillibean Soup dutch mustard soup range of papers and diecut elements.  AC cardstock, Mister Hueys Clover mist. Martha Stewart border punch, Tim Holtz rosette diecut, Prima vine and I think the corrugated letters are Jillibean Soup also. Unfortunately I still haven't mastered photographing my layouts really well so whilst the border looks uneven it is actually equal in real life.
Lil Red Rocket sketch.
I have created this layout based on the sketch at Lil Red Rocket/  Used some old Bo Bunny Flutter Butter Breeze papers and diecut.  Martha Stewart and EK Success punches, Basic Grey Journalling card with Transparency and Mini Alphas, Bottlecap with Jillibean Soup sticker, Kaisercraft rub on, Tim Holtz distress ink and White Liquid Pearls.
This card is using leftovers from the Echo Park Victoria Gardens range of papers and element stickers.
A card using leftovers of Authentique Journey collection of papers and Tim Holtz rosette and banner diecuts.
And finally I have lifted this idea from a lady on the web who makes some simple but gorgeous cards.   Have used an embossing folder and a sizzix diecut, rhinestones and a "HB" sticker.

Hope you have all enjoyed a great weekend?  Back to the working week tomorrow.

Until next time.  Happy scrapping!

Weekend of Scrapping!

Hi All

Have had a fantastic weekend scrapping with my sister and some friends at my girlfriend Suzanne's house. We always try different bits and pieces when we get together so had lots of fun.

This layout was inspired by Belinda Spencer who is a guest DT member this month at Handmade by Suzanne.  I absolutely adore what she has created with this range.  The layout is of my niece Maddie enjoying the surf.  Have used Core'dinations Cardstock that has been sanded and washed over with Ranger Snow Cap paint dabber, Pink Paislee Nantucket papers that I have cut the flowers and fish out, inked the edges and added liquid pearls. Also used some Nantucket Ephemera shapes. AC Thickers and mesh.
Two weeks ago my gorgeous niece turned 13. This photo was taken on her birthday weekend away with girlfriends.  Used Kaisercraft Bonjour range of papers and stickers, paper blooms, lace and a Melissa Francis frame.
This photo is also from Maddie's weekend away.  The paper is from the Bo Bunny Welcome Home range. The Hanging sign is a Sizzix diecut that I have rubbed over with Rangers snow cap paint dabber and added split rings.  Kaisercraft wooden fence, rub-ons and paper blooms.  The bows are made from Seam binding and twine.
This layout is my take on the October 2011 sketch at Handmade by Suzanne.  My nephew broke his arm on the first day of the school holidays in September last year.  He is such an active boy so to have to give up all the things he loves was a bit of a blow.  I have added some hidden journalling reminding him of how it took his mother 3 days to realise his arm was actually broken (despite his Aunty telling her that day).  Have used the MME Good Day Sunshine range of papers and accessories.  Hard to tell in the photo but the RHS of the diecut is raised to give it a different look.
And finally this is a card I made using the leftovers from the Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden paper pad and Ephemera shapes, MFT High Tea Doily, seam binding and liquid pearls.
Well that's all for now, thanks for stopping by.  It's now time to unpack from the weekend and get ready for another week of work.  A huge thanks to my lovely friend Suzanne for taking such good care of us over the weekend.  We love visiting you!  Hope you all have a fantastic week ahead!  Happy Scrapping!

Maddie's School Photo

Surprise Surprise two posts in a week!

This is Maddie's Year 7 school photo.  I'm not sure if I am bias or what but I ask you "who has a school photo that looks this good?"  I certainly never did!
I have used the Authentique Journey Collection of papers(which I love) and a heading element that I added Basic Grey Mini Mono letters to.  The flowers are Kaisercraft Paper blooms and Mini's, the Roses are made using MFT Die-namics rolled rose die and the rosette is a Sizzix die.  The scroll is Maya Road Chipboard that I have covered.  All products have been purchased from Handmade by Suzanne.

Well it's Grand Final weekend and can't wait for the big game, although I am a little sad that the footy season is over for another year.  Go Geelong!!!!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Finally a layout to share!

Hi Blog followers

My blog has been very neglected lately so I apologise if you have been checking and there have been no updates.  I am still struggling with motivation or inspiration to scrap.  I had a cold last week so that didn't help with the creative juices.  Anyhow I have completed this layout of my friends from our trip to Canada last year using Websters Yacht Club papers, stickers and Manor House Creations flowers.  I have used a Sizzix diecut for the chipboard clock, inked the edges with TH distress ink and sprayed it with Goosebumps texture spray.  The tag is also a Sizzix diecut and I painted it with Ranger crackle paint and added the twine. Have bordered the strip with Martha Stewarts Daisy Fan punch.

On the weekend it was my gorgeous Niece Maddie's 13th birthday.  This is the mini album I made for her but couldn't share before the day.  I have used Jillibean Soup Blossom Soup range of papers, diecuts and stickers.  I wanted to create a keepsake for her as she has such a lovely group of friends that she has had most of her life and they do so many fun things together.  Next year they all start high school and will go off to different schools, although I am sure they will always remain friends!  I have left some blank journalling spots for her to tell her own story.

I got some fantastic photo's from my sister on the weekend so hopefully that will get me inspired again and I will have more to share soon.

Until next time thanks for stopping by and for your patience. Happy scrapping!

Scrapbook Retreat

Hi All

Well the long awaited Handmade by Suzanne scrapbooking retreat was on this weekend at Fairbridge in Western Australia and it was fantastic.  I met some lovely ladies and we all had an absolutely fabulous time.  Thanks Suzanne for organising it and well done on its huge success - can't wait until next year!  For those ladies that couldn't make it this year make sure you get in for the next one.

I have quickly photographed my layouts to share as I have to go out for my girlfriends birthday and I have a huge week before going away on leave on Thursday.  Sorry for the quality of the photography but I haven't got time to fiddle today - you all get the picture though.

Lucky me I got to sit next to the lovely and very talented Treesa Young and she gave me the idea for this layout - Thanks Treez!  Have used Authentique Journey Papers and embellies, Kaisercraft wooden frame and Rub On, Prima flower, AC Thickers and Martha Stewart Punch, Tim Holtz Distress Ink and string.  Love this photo of my Nephews, Liam and Lachlan.
Trudi Harrison inspired this layout, I love her work.  Have used Kaisercraft Blae & Ivy Papers, Rub Ons and Paper Blooms, Sizzix Die Cut Bird Cage, Pink Paislee Butterfly, Green Tara Mini Rose, Lac, Martha Stewart punches and Tim Holtz Inks.  An old photo of Mitchell, Maddie and Liam at Cafe 58.
Lachlan dressed up in his pirate costume.  Have reworked this layout by adding some Rock Candy to the skulls and some Kaisercraft paper blooms.
Now these are some very old photo's of Liz, myself, Brenton and Andrew visiting Santa in the John Martin's Magic Cave.  We used to visit him every year when we went to Adelaide for the holidays.  Have used the Girls Paperie Christmas range, Bakers Twine, AC Thickers, Sizzix Rosette Die Cut and Cheery Lynn Designs Doily Die Cut.
This is Maddie all dressed up to go to her school disco.  She has straightened her hair for the first time and is looking stunning.  Used Crate paper Portrait papers, Cheery Lynn Designs Doily, AC Thickers, Green Tara Mini Roses, Kaisercraft Paper Blooms and chip Florish.
Each year on holidays the family play Euchre and this year Maddie and her cousin were the champs.  Have used Kaisercraft Timeless Papers, random playing card, AC Thickers, Rose ribbon and MS Punch.  The layout is very simple but with the playing cards it was hard to embellish.  It tells the story!
Well that's all folks my weekends creations!  Sorry it is so rushed but I am already running late to go out.  To all those lovely ladies that I met from Albany and Busselton that wanted to visit my blog a big "hello".  It was so lovely to meet you all, you were great fun.  Will be signing off for a couple of weeks so won't be signing back in until after September 10th.  Until then take care and thanks for visiting my blog!

Crop Layouts

Hi Blog Followers,

Firstly I would like to apologise to those ladies who have been checking my blog each week and there have been no posts.  I have really been struggling lately with motivation or inspiration to scrap so therefore I have had nothing to share.  Thank you for sticking with me!

Yesterday was my monthly crop at Northside so finally sat down and created a couple of layouts.

This first layout is my girlfriend Julie the night of her 50th birthday.  We had come home from dinner and both got into our PJ's to share a bottle of wine.  Her personality just shines through in these photo's.  Have used Authentique Uncommon range of patterned papers and AC cardstock, Martha Stewart Floral Vine deep edge punch, MME Lost & Found Two Blush Better Title, AC Thickers, Rhinestones. I have fussy cut the flowers from one of the papers in the range.
My two best friends.  This is the same night and I love this photo of them both.  Have used Kaisercraft Miss Nelly Die Cut that I have halved and then fussy cut the flowers from Echo Park Victoria Gardens Rose Garden paper also used Martha Stewart frong punch and Echo Park Victoria Gardens Element Stickers
Today is my wonderful Dad's birthday but sadly he's away so will have to celebrate when he returns.  This is the card I made for him.  Thanks to my lovely friend Suz for the gorgeous masculine papers from her Kaisercraft Hunt & Gather paper pad.  Also used Kaisercraft paper blooms, Green Tara roses, Tim Holtz Film Strip, String, AC Thickers and Martha Stewart punch.
A close up of the cluster.
Well next weekend is our retreat weekend so I have got two long days of scrapping so let's hope I get my mojo back and I can get organised enough to have a productive weekend.

Hope you all have a great week!

HBS August Sketch

Hi All

Well finally sat down to scrap again.  This is my take on the sketch by Michelle Fowler at Handmade by Suzanne.
I have used AC cardstock, LYB Elizabeth Park die cut, Fancy Pants Beach Babe patterned papers, die cut embellies and chipboard sticker embellishments, AC thickers, Kaisercraft rub on (can never get rub ons to look good), twine and Prima Pearls.  Have painted the sun with Rock Candy for more effect, added Glossy Accents to some of the chipboard and painted the thongs with Glimmer Glam.  There's a lot happening on the page but I think by putting it on a black background the photo is still the focus of the layout.
This is the sketch by Shell.  It's such a gorgeous sketch and the draw is random to win a great prize so why not have a go at it yourself!  We also love to see new people in the gallery.

The sun is shining in Perth today.  Yippee!!  Heading out to do the shopping and will hopefully find the inspiration to scrap again while the footy is on this afternoon.  Footy tomorrow and then back to work before I know it.  Go the mighty Eagles!!

Until next time have a great week and keep warm and dry, the rain is coming back!
